Easy French Bread Pizza is an easy meal entree that can be customized to your liking! Brush the bread with a simple garlic butter and top with your favorite pizza toppings.
The Easy French Bread Pizza Recipe can be made any way you want!
I did not come from a household where my mom always cooked food from scratch and made amazing meals for us kids. I, quite honestly, do not remember my mom cooking meals that often. From scratch, that is. However, I do remember her making pancakes that were burnt, spaghetti that was burnt, and chili that had no flavor…on a regular basis. Needless to say, my mom was not a good home cook. It’s amazing how my brothers and I managed to stay nourished after all of these years.
It’s no wonder that with cooking like that we’d prefer Ramen Noodles for lunch and dinner. Heck, they were only .10 a package! Can’t beat that. Now that we are older, I am the only one that has graduated from having a mostly processed diet to cooking with fresh vegetables and herbs. However, although I do not buy packaged dinners, at all, I am not opposed to taking some of those boxed comfort foods ideas and recreating them in your own home with fresher ingredients.
How amazing does this Easy French Bread Pizza look, huh?!
Let me tell you, this Easy French Bread Pizza is WAY better than those boxed pizzas. I think anything you make on your own is better than anything that comes from a box or a bag. Let’s be honest, those meals are around for convenience and those who don’t feel confident in the kitchen. You don’t have to be very confident in the kitchen to make this Easy French Bread Pizza recipe. Heck, your kids can make these and all you have to do is turn on the oven.
Now, because I am an advocate of always having a vegetable with your meal, you can make a salad for the kids to eat along with their pizzas. This meal is done in 15 minutes (prep and cook time). Another great thing about this is that you can make them as healthy or unhealthy as you want! Here’s an idea, while your kids are in school, prepare some toppings for them and put them in containers so they can create the pizza they want. You can use spinach, diced tomatoes, ground turkey, mushrooms, peppers or whatever healthy toppings you want. Heck, you don’t even have to use white French Bread. You can use multigrain or whatever other healthy breads are out there. When they get home have them make their meals while you relax and take a night off!
I love making meals that leaves room for interpretation. That is the one thing about cooking that is great! Most recipes are like a blank canvas where you can use your own color palette and brush strokes to create a beautiful work of art. So when you are preparing these pizzas, look down at that bread as your canvas, the toppings as your palette, and your hands are the paint brushes. Get to making art!

- Take the long loaf of French Bread and use a serrated knife to cut the bottom of the loaf off of the bread leaving the top of the bread and the majority of the bread. Cut the loaf into two halves and use a pastry brush and brush the top of the French (which will be the bottom) with the melted butter.
- Place the top of the french bread on top of the prepared baking sheet. Take the remaining melted butter and brush the top of the french bread. Take some of the pizza sauce and spread on top of the bread and use the bottom of a spoon to spread the sauce along the bread. Sprinkle the top of the bread with both cheeses. Top off the french bread with the turkey pepperoni or other desired toppings. If there is leftover cheese sprinkle on top of the remaining toppings and place in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Since I am getting ready to fix your French Bread Pizza recipe for the umpteenth time, I figured it was time to send you a thank you note. I have tried other recipes but they were never quite right. It’s the garlic butter & herb mixture that makes all the difference. This has become a regular on our Friday night menu. I pick up a loaf of French bread from the bakery even though I bake most of our bread. When I have lots of basil in my herb garden like now, I top the pizza with slivered basil right after I take it out of the oven. It is divine! My children & grandchildren love it. I love that in this Texas heat, I don’t have to use the oven for long. Thank you for posting this recipe.
